Biodiesel and oilseed crush

Reliability support for oilseed crush plants, biodiesel producers and renewable diesel sites: criticality, bad actors, PM strategy, critical spares and CMMS data, done with your crew and sized for a plant without a reliability department.

Who we help

Crush, biodiesel and renewable diesel, one conversation.

Crush plants, biodiesel producers and the renewable diesel sites built or converted in the last few years share the same problem: a plant that runs continuously, a crew that is stretched, and a maintenance program that was inherited or never written. New sites arrive with a vendor asset list and little else.

The work starts with the register and the criticality ranking, because nothing else holds without them, then moves to the repeat failures and the PMs that stop them. For a new or converted site, we build the program before the first year of failures teaches it to you the hard way.

The equipment that sets the pace: extraction and desolventizer systems, presses and flakers, conveyors and elevators, process pumps and heat exchangers, boilers and dryers, and on the fuel side the reactors, distillation and hydrotreating units and their rotating equipment.

What we do

Register, criticality, bad actors, PMs, spares.

Every item is done hands-on with your team and scoped to your plant. Nothing here is a software license.

  • ✓ Asset register and CMMS data build
  • ✓ Criticality ranking, RS 7-factor model
  • ✓ Bad actor analysis from your work order history
  • ✓ PM strategy built from failure modes
  • ✓ Critical spares justification
  • ✓ Operational readiness for new or converted units
  • ✓ Shutdown planning and readiness
  • ✓ Operator rounds and basic care
How the work is priced

Two ways to start.

Step one

Site assessment

Fixed price · $5,600 · travel included

We come to the plant, walk it, review your CMMS and failure history, and talk to the people doing the work. You get a scored report on where your program sits, the gaps that matter, and what to fix first.

Monthly plan

Reliability Support Plan

One flat monthly rate for a block of reliability hours, sized like a part-time engineer. The hours go where the need is that month: a criticality ranking, a bad actor review, a PM rewrite, a spares call, a problem on the floor. Run out, and you add hours at your tier rate or step up a tier for a lower rate. Month to month, or 3, 6 and 12 month terms. Ask us about it today.

Questions we get

Straight answers.

We are a new site with a vendor equipment list and no PM program. Where do we start?

With the register. We turn the vendor list into a plant asset register, rank it by criticality, and write the first PM set from failure modes rather than copying the vendor manual. That is the operational readiness work, and it is far cheaper before startup than after.

We converted an existing unit to renewable diesel. Does the old program still apply?

Partly. Duty, temperatures and feedstock have changed, so the failure modes have changed. We re-rank criticality for the converted unit and rework the PMs and spares where the service is different. The rest of the plant keeps what works.

Our CMMS data is thin. Can you still find the bad actors?

Yes. We start from the work orders you do have, parts purchases and what the crew remembers, one process area at a time. The register gets built as we go.

Do you have to be on site?

The assessment is on site. Most monthly program work is done remotely with site visits when the work needs eyes on the equipment.

Can you help with our shutdown?

Yes. We run shutdown readiness across six phases and five gates, from scope freeze through startup, and we can plan and manage the event or review your plan and tell you where it is thin.

What does it cost?

The site assessment is $5,600, fixed price, travel included. The monthly program is one flat rate for a block of hours that goes wherever the need is that month. Run out, add hours at your tier rate or step up a tier for a lower rate. Month to month, or 3, 6 and 12 month terms. Stand-alone jobs are scoped and quoted before we start.
