Chemical plants

Reliability support for specialty and mid-size chemical plants: criticality, bad actors, PM strategy, critical spares, CMMS data and turnaround readiness, from people who ran multi-site chemical reliability before starting this firm.

Who we help

Plants that need the program, not the corporate overhead.

Mid-size and specialty chemical plants often sit between two bad options: a corporate program designed for a site five times their size, or no program at all. The plant has the hazards and the regulatory load of a large site with a fraction of the staff.

Our background is corporate mechanical reliability across many chemical sites: criticality, maintenance strategy, spares, mechanical integrity and turnarounds. We bring that method to one plant at a time, sized to the crew it has.

The equipment: pumps and seals in corrosive and toxic service, agitators and reactors, compressors and blowers, exchangers and columns, relief systems, tank farms and utilities. We work to API, ASME and ISO and to your own site standards.

What we do

Criticality, strategy, spares, integrity, turnarounds.

Every item is done hands-on with your team and scoped to your plant. Nothing here is a software license.

  • ✓ Asset register and CMMS data build
  • ✓ Criticality ranking, RS 7-factor model
  • ✓ Bad actor analysis from your work order history
  • ✓ PM strategy built from failure modes
  • ✓ Critical spares justification
  • ✓ Mechanical integrity program support
  • ✓ Turnaround planning, readiness and gates
  • ✓ Reliability program build and KPIs
How the work is priced

Two ways to start.

Step one

Site assessment

Fixed price · $5,600 · travel included

We come to the plant, walk it, review your CMMS and failure history, and talk to the people doing the work. You get a scored report on where your program sits, the gaps that matter, and what to fix first.

Monthly plan

Reliability Support Plan

One flat monthly rate for a block of reliability hours, sized like a part-time engineer. The hours go where the need is that month: a criticality ranking, a bad actor review, a PM rewrite, a spares call, a problem on the floor. Run out, and you add hours at your tier rate or step up a tier for a lower rate. Month to month, or 3, 6 and 12 month terms. Ask us about it today.

Questions we get

Straight answers.

We have a corporate reliability standard but no one to execute it. Can you do that?

Yes. That is the most common situation we see. We execute to your standard, one unit at a time, and leave the records in your CMMS in the form the standard asks for.

Pump seals in corrosive service are our biggest cost. Where do you start?

With the failure history by pump and service, then the seal and flush plan against the actual duty. Most seal programs fail on the flush plan, the piping plan selection or the operating envelope, not the seal.

Can you support our mechanical integrity program?

Yes, on the program side: criticality driving the inspection priorities, the equipment register and data, the PM and inspection task basis, and the link between inspection findings and the maintenance plan. The inspections themselves stay with your certified inspectors.

Do you have to be on site?

The assessment is on site. Most monthly program work is done remotely with site visits when the work needs eyes on the equipment or when a turnaround is in the field.

Can you run or support our turnaround?

Yes. We run turnaround readiness across six phases and five gates, from scope freeze through startup. We can manage the event, fill a planning or readiness role, or review your plan.

What does it cost?

The site assessment is $5,600, fixed price, travel included. The monthly program is one flat rate for a block of hours that goes wherever the need is that month. Run out, add hours at your tier rate or step up a tier for a lower rate. Month to month, or 3, 6 and 12 month terms. Stand-alone jobs are scoped and quoted before we start.
